TOR BALLET PRESENTS GISELLE & DON QUIXOTE A CHARITY BALLET PERFORMANCE IN SUPPORT OF UKRAINE Join Tor Ballet for a special evening of classical ballet performed by passionate adult dancers. This is a charity event raising funds to support Ukraine. By attending this performance, you are not only enjoying an evening of ballet, but also helping to support people affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. ACT I — GISELLE: ACT II The second act of Giselle is one of the most moving and haunting chapters in the classical ballet repertoire. After Giselle's death, she joins the Wilis — spirits of young women who have died after being betrayed by love. When Count Albrecht, the man she loved, comes to her grave, he is discovered by the Wilis and condemned to dance until he dies. Yet Giselle's love proves stronger than anger and revenge. She protects Albrecht and ultimately forgives him, allowing him to survive. A story of love, forgiveness, sacrifice and redemption, Giselle reminds us that true love can transcend even death. Featuring: Myrtha, Queen of the Wilis Giselle Albrecht Two Wili Soloists ACT II — DON QUIXOTE HIGHLIGHTS A vibrant mini-suite of highlights from Don Quixote, filled with Spanish flair, virtuosity, character dancing and unforgettable classical ballet. The act opens with the Overture, followed by: Toreador Mercedes Friends' Dance Kitri & Basilio Gypsy Scene — ensemble dance and Gypsy Solo Kitri's Variation Seguidilla From fiery Spanish character dances to Kitri's celebrated virtuoso variations, this second act brings together some of the most exhilarating moments from Don Quixote. THE DANCERS Tor Ballet is an adult ballet company bringing together dancers united by a genuine passion for classical ballet. Our performers come from a wide range of backgrounds. Some train for one to two hours almost every evening, while others have previously danced professionally. Among our dancers are former professional ballet dancers, professional martial artists and performers with professional experience in other dance styles. What brings them together is the same thing: a deep love of ballet and the desire to keep dancing, performing and challenging themselves as adults. This performance celebrates the dedication, artistry and passion of adult dancers. SUPPORTING UKRAINE This performance is organised as a charity event to raise funds for Ukraine. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards supporting Ukraine and providing help where it is most needed. Thank you for supporting our dancers, our community and Ukraine.
